GDI Insurance Agency was formed over 20 years ago. During the late 1990s and early 2000s it experienced exponential growth by way of its expertise in the construction liabilty markets. Following the economic recession in 2007-2008, GDI has experienced a Rennaisance in its customer service approach. GDI has expanded its client service offerings in order to remain both competitive and relavant to now offering business and financial advising, along with safety/compliance advise for its clients.
GDI Insurance Agency should win a small business grant from FedEx as we have been pioneers in our market when it comes to innovation; similar to FedEx. We recently noticed that a significant amount of work we were performing (similar to that performed by most insurance brokers) closely, if not identically, resembled the work performed by other professionals servicing our clients. We then increased our efforts to match the service of other professions and increased efficiency for our clients.
A significant portion of GDI's business model requires a sizeable amount of human capital in order to press forward with its expansion efforts. GDI plans to implement a more efficient client management and retention system that will (1) increase GDI's ability to handle a vastly larger volume of new clients, and (2) to hire 1-2 more full time and full benefits employees in order to deliver on those services. GDI knows that a hands-on, consultative approach is what is necessary in our economy.
